President Preckwinkle Welcomes New Chief of Staff

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle is pleased to announce G.A. Finch as her incoming chief of staff. Finch is a partner with Hoogendoorn & Talbot LLP, where he is a member of the business, employment, real estate and litigation practice groups. He will join the county in November. Finch also has an extensive background in government. He served as a City of Chicago Deputy Planning Commissioner in Mayor Harold Washington’s administration and was the General Counsel for the Chicago Housing Authority. “After twenty years in the private sector, I am proud we were able to lure G.A. to come work for the County,” Preckwinkle said. “His combination of experience in the public and private sectors will make him a valuable asset to my administrative team.” Finch will replace Kurt Summers, who has served as Preckwinkle’s chief of staff since her inauguration in 2010. Summers will join Grosvenor Capital Management L.P. as a Senior Vice President. Summers will work closely with Grosvenor CEO Michael Sacks and the rest of the senior management team on various projects and strategic initiatives. “Kurt has been an invaluable part of my administration,” Preckwinkle said. “He is an incredibly smart and talented person who I have relied on for his strategic advice and strong management skills. I know he will be successful in all his future endeavors.”
