SP and LC Citations
About SP and LC Citations
Sheriff Police (SP) citations consist of two different violation types: Parking and Compliance. Both notices are handwritten and are given to the driver or placed on the vehicle that is either parked or standing in violation of the Cook County Vehicle Code. Some examples of the Parking violation include ‘Reserved Parking – Disabled Only’, ‘Parking In Front of Driveway’, etc. Examples of the Compliance violation include, ‘No Wheel Tax Sticker’, ‘No Registration Displayed’, etc.
The Legal Complaint (LC) citation is a handwritten notice that is given to an individual that exhibits behavior that violates the Cook County Code of Ordinances. Examples of the LC violation include ‘Possession of Cannabis < 10 Grams’, Drinking on the Public Way’, ‘Damage to Public Property’, etc.
