Just over two weeks after confirming 13,000 COVID-19 deaths in Cook County, the Medical Examiner’s Office (MEO) marked another grim pandemic milestone today. The MEO confirmed the County’s 14,000th death due to COVID-19 infection this morning.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office (MEO) marked another grim pandemic milestone today. The MEO confirmed the County’s 13,000th death due to COVID-19 infection just six weeks after the County marked its 12,000th death from the virus.
Cook County is under a winter weather advisory until 6 p.m. today. Wind gusts up to 50 mph will cause sub-zero temperatures. Additionally, an arctic cold front will move across the region Wednesday night through Friday with wind chills hovering at or below zero.
