Tinley Park Convention Center Opens Tuesday By Appointment Only for Phase 1b

Tinley Park – Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and Cook County Health CEO Israel Rocha were joined by Governor J.B. Pritzker to announce today that the Tinley Park Convention Center will serve as Cook County’s first large-scale vaccination site opening on Tuesday, January 26 to continue Phase 1a and begin Phase 1b vaccinations.

Cook County Prepares for Winter Storm

A winter storm system could dump several inches of snow across Cook County. Snowfall is expected to begin between 5 – 7 p.m. today and change to freezing rain between 9 – 11 p.m. The County’s Department of Transportation and Highways (DoTH) is monitoring conditions and will deploy all resources necessary to keep the 1,500 lane miles the County maintains, safe for drivers.

Cook County Board of Commissioners Approves $35 Million Fair Transit Pilot Program

 

The Cook County Board of Commissioners approved $35 million today for a pilot program designed to enhance transit in south Cook and northern Will Counties. The County is partnering with Metra and Pace to launch Fair Transit South Cook to help make transit more affordable and convenient for residents in the Southland.

Four Incentives Approved by Cook County Board Designed to Spur Economic Growth

Today, Cook County Commissioners approved four proposals from President Toni Preckwinkle’s Bureau of Economic Development (BED) that will provide tax incentives to businesses in Cook County.

The incentives, designed to promote economic growth, were approved in the following communities:  Alsip, Elk Grove Village, and Wheeling.
