Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle along with the Cook County Department of Emergency Management and Regional Security (EMRS) today announced the recipients of 17 grants to fund projects under the 2023 Urban Area Security Initiativ

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for Cook County between 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with heat indexes between 110 – 115 degrees expected.

Hot, humid and potentially stormy weather conditions will move across Cook County starting on Wednesday and ending Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
