Cook County Board Approves Three Tax Incentives Designed to Support Economic Growth

Cook County Commissioners today approved three proposals from President Toni Preckwinkle’s Bureau of Economic Development (BED) that will provide tax incentives to businesses in Cook County.

The incentives, which will either create new or save existing jobs, were approved in the following communities: Bellwood and Hodgkins.  

As a result of redevelopment activities, these incentives should support the creation of an estimated 15 new private sector full-time jobs and support 100 construction jobs.

“The companies receiving these incentives have demonstrated their commitment to our communities and residents,” Preckwinkle said. "I’m pleased that we are able to use our tax incentive tools to either keep or expand businesses in Cook County.”

Details on the incentives follow, listed by municipality:

Applicant Name: 7415 St. Louis, LLC, 10 Davis Drive, Bellwood

Type of Business: Real estate development for manufacturing and warehousing

Description:  Glass Temp will occupy the property for its operation consisting of fabrication, warehousing and distribution of products used in the glass industry.

Type of Incentive: 6b

Estimated: 15 full time jobs created; TBD construction jobs supported

Applicant Name: MIF6620 River (Hodgkins) LLC, 6620 River Road, Hodgkins

Type of Business:  Industrial broker and redeveloper

Description:  MIF industrial broker and redeveloper will lease this property to an industrial user.

Type of Incentive: Class 6b

Estimated: TBD jobs created; 40 construction jobs supported

Applicant Name: MIF6600 River (Hodgkins) LLC, 6600 River Road, Hodgkins

Type of Business:  MIF industrial broker and redeveloper will lease this property to an industrial user.

Type of Incentive: Class 6b

Estimated: TBD jobs created; 60 construction jobs supported
