The Bureau includes the Office of Economic Development, Department of Planning and Development, Department of Building and Zoning, and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Our Impact

The Cook County Bureau of Economic Development has released Elevating Growth and Community Transformation: 2023 Impact Report. This document offers a glimpse of the important work the Bureau does every day to assist residents, businesses and communities throughout Cook County. From April 2022 to June 2024, the Bureau’s programs served over 305,000 residents and over 23,000 businesses. The Bureau partners with an array of community, business, social service, economic development, planning and other nonprofit organizations, big and small, to deliver these programs. We remain grateful to the hundreds of partners that have made this work possible.
