County’s Department of Emergency Management and Regional Security offers cooling tips and a list of cooling centers for residents

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle announced today the appointment of Theodore “Ted” Berger as executive director of the County’s Department of Emergency Management and Regional Security (EMRS).

The program invests recovery dollars in career exploration, offering 200 suburban Cook County youth internships and connections to high-demand, high-growth sectors.

Today, Cook County issued a notice to employees regarding the Minimum Wage Ordinance (MWO).

Effective July 1, 2022, the minimum wage will increase to $13.35 for non-tipped workers and $7.40 for tipped employees.
