Board of Ethics Investigations

Service Information

The Board of Ethics is charged with investigating violations of Cook County’s Ethics Ordinance. Upon determining that a violation has occurred, the Board has the authority to request corrective action and impose fines, among other remedies. 

The Board receives written complaints of alleged violations of the Ethics Ordinance for the purpose of investigation. For more about requesting an investigations and the subsequent investigation process, please refer to Section 5 of the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Ethics.

Board of Ethics Notices of Determination

Final determinations of the Board are public documents, with such redactions as may be appropriate to protect the integrity of the Board’s investigative process and/or private or personal information.
