The Economic Development Division of the Department of Planning and Development (DPD) manages programs designed to help businesses grow, expand and create jobs.

Our programs include:

  • Property Tax Incentives (Class 6b, Class 7, Class 8)
  • BUILT in Cook Loan Programs
  • Industrial Growth Zones   
  • Private Activity Bonds

Relevant activities include construction and business development loans, corporate tax incentives, industrial development revenue bonds, and the no cash bid program.  Eligible applicants vary by program and include public, private, and non-profit organizations, businesses and business owners, and municipalities.  View and download our brochure:

Please note – some Cook County economic development funding for programs and projects is restricted to suburban Cook County. Additional requirements and restrictions also apply.
