Cook County to Host “Pathways to Cook County” Summit to Advance Procurement Opportunities and Engage Small Businesses

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle is proud to announce the Pathways to Cook County Summit, a dynamic and collaborative event that fosters inclusivity, transparency, and civic engagement. The event will take place on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the UIC Dorin Forum, located at 725 W. Roosevelt Road in Chicago.

Cook County Announces 14 Recipients of Cook County Arts Creative Placemaking Grants

COOK COUNTY, IL–Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle announced today 14 nonprofit organizations that will receive Cook County Arts Creative Placemaking grants, which will fund transformative, community-led art projects in suburban communities. 

Recipients will receive grants ranging from $50,000 to $250,000 to lead the development of public murals, community gardens, arts centers and other projects that advance vibrant, sustainable and inclusive communities. 

Cook County Board Approves More Than $80 million in Funding to Improve Transportation Throughout Cook County

The Cook County Board of Commissioners approved $81,212,822 in funding this week for transportation-related projects for the County’s Department of Transportation and Highways (DoTH). These vital projects advance the construction of road and bridge improvements across Cook County to boost economic development and quality of life for residents and visitors.

Cook County Honored with Record 78 National Association of Counties Achievement Award

Today the Cook County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution recognizing Cook County’s 2025 National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Awards. The County was honored with 78 national awards that highlight effective, innovative government programs which improve services for residents, advance equity and respond to critical needs across communities.

Cook County Animal and Rabies Control Issues Hot Weather Safety Tips for Pets

Heat indices in the triple digits are forecast for our region this weekend and into the early part of next week. The Cook County Department of Animal and Rabies Control urges pet owners to take special precautions to protect the health and welfare of their pets. The department offers the following tips for pet owners to keep in mind:

To ensure pets remain safe and healthy during the weekend festivities, Cook County’s Department of Animal and Rabies Control recommends pet owners take the following precautions.
