Cook County Launches ADA Transition Plan Public Outreach Website

Residents encouraged to review plan online and provide feedback to improve roadway right-of-way accessibility

The Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (DoTH) announced the launch of its Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan public outreach website today. The ADA Transition Plan provides a pathway to make County rights-of-way accessible to all users of the roadways, including those with disabilities.

Cook County Celebrates New Cold-Storage Delivery Vans for Suburban Food Pantries

(COOK COUNTY, IL) – Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle joined U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, Cook County Commissioners Donna Miller and Alma Anaya, local elected officials, and leadership from the Greater Chicago Food Depository and three suburban food pantries on April 2 to celebrate the unveiling of new cold-storage vans that will increase pantry capacity to serve their customers.

 County’s Animal and Rabies Control hosts first clinic on Saturday, April 13

The Cook County Department of Animal and Rabies Control (ARC) is kicking off its 2024 Partners in Prevention clinics beginning Saturday, April 13. Through mid-October, ARC is partnering with local animal organizations to offer low-cost or free 1-year rabies vaccines as well as microchips. These partnerships ultimately link pet owners to organizations in their area for year-round pet care, helping to create a healthier pet community.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office (MEO) is hosting its fourth Cook County Missing Persons Day to connect those who have long-term missing loved ones with resources and experts. The MEO asks media outlets to help inform residents throughout the region with a missing family member or friend about the event so they are able to take advantage of the services that will be provided.

Cook County Announces Finalization of Two C-PACE Projects

(COOK COUNTY, IL) – The Cook County Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program, administered by the Illinois Energy Conservation Authority, announced today the recent closing of financing for two multifamily developments in Chicago. 

One development will take place at 633 S. LaSalle St., in the South Loop, and the other is being constructed at 1310 S. Ashland Ave., in the Illinois Medical District on the Near West Side.
