Cook County Partners with Elevate to Launch “LeadCare Cook County”

Cook County, in partnership with Elevate, announced today the launch of LeadCare Cook County, a program that supports a safe and healthy learning environment for children by offering free lead service line replacement to licensed, home-based child care providers in suburban Cook County. The program aims to replace over 550 lead service lines at child care facilities over the lifespan of the program.

Notes record-low hospital gap, strong position to address FY2024 budget

COOK COUNTY, IL — Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle today unveiled the preliminary forecast for the County’s Fiscal Year 2024 showing a projected gap of $85.6 million which is down significantly from the height of the pandemic and its $409.6 million gap. The $3 million projected hospital system gap represents the lowest of President Preckwinkle’s administration.

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, along with Congresswoman Robin Kelly, Congressman Jonathan Jackson, the Army Corps of Engineers and the Village of Dixmoor gathered today to break ground on the watermain infrastructure improvement project in Dixmoor. The south suburban project will help reduce water loss, increase water pressure to the north end of the Village and improve the ability to effectively fight fires throughout the community.
