Today, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle announced that the first payments to participants in the Cook County Promise Guaranteed Income Pilot (Promise Pilot) have been released and will reach participants in the coming days. The $42 million pilot is the largest publicly-funded guaranteed income program in American history, and received over 233,000 applications during the open application period between October 6 and October 21.

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle announced the appointments of Tanya S. All lanes of the bridge will be closed for repairs Friday night through Sunday evening

The Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways is closing all lanes of the Crawford Avenue/Pulaski Road bridge over the Cal-Sag Channel in Alsip, Crestwood and Robbins, IL to traffic beginning Friday, December 9 at 10 p.m. through Sunday, December 11 at 6 p.m. The closure is being planned for necessary overhead structural steel repairs to the bridge.
