The Cook County Bureau of Economic Development created the Manufacturing Apprenticeship Accelerator in collaboration with Skills for Chicagoland's Future to provide manufacturers with a “concierge service” to identify and screen candidates for employment programs that include all the following elements:

  • an “earn and learn” model; 
  • an industry-focused on-the-job training plan or curriculum; 
  • the opportunity to earn industry-recognized credentials; and  
  • a salary increase after completion.
